Could be a bomb!
I purchased a model 841412 (just like this model on Amazon but different model number) about a year ago. Recently, I put the battery on the charger so that I could finally use the drill. At 3:00 a.m. a few mornings ago, I was awakened by a very loud explosion noise. Upon investigation, I found pieces of the battery pack all over the room, along with heavy black soot, a couple of valuable household items that had been shattered, and other pieces of plastic scattered as far away as 15 feet! I am SO thankful that no one was in the room when this thing blew up. Be very aware that this brand and company have a dangerous product out there. Bought mine at Costco and I'm sure they will make it good, but am attempting to contact the company for some additional money for damages and/or returning of this drill "Bomb" for thier own internal investigation; if they even care about the incident. Wish I had read the reviews before picking this up, but now maybe I can help some others who run across a...
